Oikos Antoxis cafe

TipsMarch 8, 2016admin

Yesterday, after a short climb hiking on an impressive hill, I appeared in one of the “secret” coffee shops (located in the roots of this hill) in a village of Crete around midday with two friends, and I would like to share with you my 2 hours experience.

The place was empty but the old wood heater was already on duty keeping the water warm for a welcoming cup of tea.

Our idea was to skip it and we asked for a jar of local red wine. Our order was on the table in the next 5 minutes.

I had just finished turning on and connecting my laptop, turning the next table into an temporary office.

Our disappointment due to the absence of fire and woods in the fire place didn’t last for long.

Soon, we realized that the multi functional wood heater was enough to offer its pleasant warmth and a delicious lunch.

The next nice surprise came when I went out in the yard to smoke a cigarette (lucky, as I had the camera on my solder) and I saw a big bird of prey standing on a rock in the background of the WC.

The few seconds till it flight away behind the hill (and out of my site) was enough time to make two shots with the camera.

After short time working on computer and a bit longer time chatting and hearing nice stories from the owner our lunch was ready!

Not to forget to mention that the fresh salad was based on herbs and wild greens we had just collected from our walk on the impressive hill.
Cheers !!
