The idea is very simple and is based on the way we would like to be treated when visiting a foreign country and trying to discover the non-tourist side and feel the SOUL of the place.
We would like to be completely honest saying that our basic aim is to treat the visitors, not as tourists, not even as guests, but as our future friends.
We don‘t wish to get involved with the big travel agencies and companies, since we believe more in the power of single humans, joined together in a good cause. Plus we want to be independent professionals, being able to offer high quality service, based on a friendly atmosphere with low costs.
This is why we offer our services only to individuals or small groups (usually 4 – 5 members).
You can contact us at any time and let as know when you are coming to Crete, how long you are staying, how many are in your group, etc… Apart from the technicalities, let us know some things about yourselves like what you like and/or dislike, what are your hopes about this trip, any special needs or requests that will help us make a rough plan for the time we will spend together.
We will make a plan and contact you the details and the final cost according to your every need. Don’t worry! The cost will be your first good surprise by us. Maybe some adjustments has to be arranged and then you can start dreaming of the day you arrive to Crete!
One of us will be waiting for you upon you arrival and start our adventure right away!
We are 3 Cretan experts, ready to join you and help you to discover the authentic character of this big island.
Isidoros and Audrius are happy to travel with you showing places very well hidden from popular, famous travel guide books.
We are confident of what we can offer based on our experience with the many happy satisfied people we have had the chance to advise where to travel and what to look for, during their holidays in Crete.
My name is Isidoros kampolis, I live in Crete for more than 5 years, and I have lived in different countries of North Europe for long periods, as well. Originally I come from Athens, visited Crete for the first time in 1998. Since that first visit I noticed a difference with other Creek islands I have been as a tourist. The sense of hospitality by the Cretan people makes the great difference among all the other Greeks who live in islands where many foreigner tourists use to visit every summer.
The more I visited Crete (getting to know many locals), the more I realized that this is a place worth to try to get a job and live permanently. During my work as a barman at Troulis hotel in Bali (Rethymno, not Asia!!) in summer of 2008, I used to advise the tourists of the hotel about places to visit, according to their interests. The reason was based on the way I would like to be treated when visiting a foreign country and trying to discover the non- tourist side.
Recently, I decided to create this internet site, not just to inform people that they can book day trips and drive them to the authentic Crete, but also to help visitors to discover by themselves the real ‘diamonds’ of the island, away from the touristic resorts. Summarizing, I would like to mention 2 basic elements, this site is based on.
I love Crete although I am not a Cretan man. I am Lithuanian Audrius Antanas Morkūnas. Indeed, I have got two given names.: People call me Audrius in Lithuania and Antonis or Αντωνης in Crete. I can speak in Lithuanian, Greek, English and Russian. My occupation is a journalist, and I still cooperate with one Lithuanian publishing house.
You can find me on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/audrius.morkunas
I came to the island of Crete in the year 1999 for the first time. I visited it annually since then, and for the last four years I feel like at home here. I travel a lot round the island and still discover something new and interesting. I also learn unheard stories, unknown legends, and I appear in the surprisingly unique places that are unmarked in the touristic routes. However the main thing is that I meet very interesting, sincere and hospitable people. In Crete I became obsessed about mountain hiking: I have passed practically all popular trekking/ hiking routes and discovered new ones that are known even for the Cretans.
I would like to share at least a part of these discoveries with you. Please, read what are you interested in, and I shall help you to get sight of unseen Crete.
Hello, everybody!
I am Akvile and I help two Cretan experts as an administrator by making sure that there will be no problem with bookings, and all the day trip plans, excursions will be organized successfully.
I am doing my PhD studies in Ethnology and I like to observe environment from the cultural perspective. Living in Crete is a wonderful experience (nature, climate and food are superb), but the most interesting things for me are the locals and the huge variety of different cultural elements that can be noticed here.
I am sure that no matter your interests, you can find something to make your visit hard to forget.
