Vamos area in north Chania region is a very nice place with many spots really worth a visit. However, there are only a few places where you can enjoy swimming.
Omprosgialos (close to village Palealoni) is one of them, and Stratis with his family can provide you many delicious flavors based on goat-sheep meat, fish and vegetables, all fresh as they are farmers, shepherds and fishermen at the same time. You can enjoy local food plus their homemade wine and raki at the first primitive building you see, as you park close to the coast.
